WEEK ONE
In week one we discuss the importance of viewing Scripture as a story, and begin the biblical story by covering Genesis 1 and 2 and developing a theology of creation.
WEEK TWO
In week two we recap the story of creation, and progress through the biblical narrative to the end of Genesis, covering the entry of sin to creation, and tracing the fulfillment of God’s promises to Abraham.
WEEK THREE
In week three we discuss key events of the Torah, following Israel’s journey out of slavery and toward the Promised Land. We discuss the time of the judges and the first kings, up to the point where the kingdom is split into two under Rehoboam.
WEEK four
In week four we follow Israel’s story from the split kingdom, through to the exile and the return from exile.
WEEK FIVE
In week five, we recap the Old Testament before discussing the time between the Old and New Testaments. This leads us to the central figure of Scripture: Jesus Christ! We talk about the key events of his incarnate ministry, and then turn to the life of the early church.
WEEK SIX
In week six we complete the biblical narrative, considering the New Testament letters and the glorious hope offered to the Church by the book of Revelation. The course concludes with some thoughts about what it means to ‘live in the story’ today, and by inviting you to give telling the story a go.
